On Tuesday, the 'rents and I just hung out. Dad and I went to see Rocky Balboa (his choice) and it was actually an ok movie. Sylvester Stallone was born to play Rocky - the tears were welling up in my eyes (and dad's) on several occasions during the film. The ending was kind of abrupt, but I guess there is now room for Rocky Balboa II.
We also visited Grandpa in the hospital. He is ok now, but was feeling ill so it was best for him to recuperate there. On Wednesday, I took a gypsy bus into the city
to visit Lane and had lunch with her in Soho. I walked from the Port Authority all the way to her office, so I was very proud of myself! The 'rents drove into the city to see the Christmas tree, so they picked me up on Broadway. We were kinda hungry so I suggested that we nosh at one of my favorite places, Zen Palate, on Union Square. The 'rents agreed and we enjoyed a delicious veggie meal including my favorite Curry Supreme, pineapple iced tea and the alright tofu cheesecake. The city was packed with tourists so we did a quick drive by of the tree and general festivities around Rock Center and headed home.
Now I am back in NY. The last couple of days have been quiet. I went to the barn yesterday and rode in my saddle. I love it and I noticed that it kind of looks like and maybe rides like a Butet only it did not cost $3500. Thank goodness. I am starting at Talbots on Tuesday. I'll have to talk with the manager about my schedule, so hopefully I will still have some days for riding. I'm also still waiting for a call from the Syracuse City school that has an opening. I want to teach!!
Tonight we're going to dinner at Redfield's at the Marx (soon to be a Renaissance) Hotel. It'll be a quiet but enjoyable New Year's Eve I am sure... resolutions forthcoming.
A happy and safe 2007 to all!
