So, after two blissful lessons riding Ariel, I am back to reality.
I rode Sugar on Tuesday, and while the lesson was not horrendous, my riding and my balance were... When it was my turn to canter, CM told me that my balance was so atrocious that she made me stop. Then she had me drop my outside stirrup and resume the canter. I was so out of sorts and out of balance that I nearly fell off. So, she had me loose both stirrups and trot. That went okay for awhile, and then Sugar got going a bit fast at the trot and I started bouncing, and I bounced right off the saddle and onto her side. I was clutching the saddle for dear life, refusing to fall off and hit the ground. CM was laughing hysterically. I finally jumped and landed on my feet holding the bridle. Very graceful, I might add. So CM was still laughing uproariously and so was I. The rest of the lesson went better, we jumped a little bit I felt like my balance was getting a bit better.
Looking forward to riding tomorrow. Maybe I'll get to ride PR or maybe even Dutch. That would be a treat.
Tonight I have to work at LOFT and then a bunch of us are going to Pastabilities for dinner... YUM! And probably Ohm for awhile. Should be fun. DAS has to go to Boston on Sunday for a week of training. I am proud of him that his career is going so well, but I am not looking forward to his week long trip... :(
Oh and this weekend the 'rents are coming up to visit and do fun CNY things like apple-picking, pumpkin hunting and hay rides or some such thing.
Yep. my life is pretty darn exciting. Life does not get much better than apple-picking.
