I remember back in High School there a movie was released called Saturday the Fourteenth - a spoof on all of the Friday the 13th movies. It was pretty dumb. Another dumb movie could be Sunday the 15th, etc. Or not. Anyway, DAS came back from his travels to Boston. The trip was tough on him but I think he was able to accomplish alot! My week was ok.
The 'rents did indeed come up to visit. They arrived late afternoon on Sunday and we went to see School for Scoundrels and ate at Olive Garden. My dinner, Shrimp and Asparagus Risotto, was pretty tasty. Not a big fan of the dry and icky breadsticks though. The 'rents were tired after all of the activity so we went home and crashed. On Monday I took them to Wegmans and then we drove out toward the barn and bough mums and pumpkins to spruce up my homestead. They busily planted and arranged and made the house look really swell. :) It was a nice surprise for DAS when he got home. I had to work at 4, so they came to the store with me and I bought my mom a couple of things. It was nice to be able to share my routine, boring as it may be, with them. It kind of made me feel good to know that now when I talk about certain things or places, they'll know what I am talking about.
School has been good this week. I am feeling more comfortable with my kids, and we are having more fun in class. I hope they all don't think class is completely boring though.
Worked a few times this week and went out on Friday night with some of the LOFT girls. It ended up being a late night due to some complications with one of the girls' cars and her radiator or anti-freeze or some such thing. I got home at 2 after dropping her off, and needless to say, DAS was po'ed. Saturday was touch and go for the morning, but by the time I left for the barn, things were back to normal. I rode Sugar (again!) inside, and rode her without my outside stirrup for most of the lesson. Cantering to the left inside was tough, but the right was fine, or better at least. I missed jumping today, but it was good to see that my balance is improving. I think I may need to take up yoga or pilates or something to help work on my balance. We'll see.
My placement is already almost half over. I like the school environment alot, especially the teachers I am working with in the classroom. I hope that I'll be able to get a job where my colleagues are as supportive and inspiring as many of the people I am working with now.
Ciao.
Oh, I have a new digital camera now as my other one died, so hopefully I'll be able to start posting some more exciting pictures. As Napoleon Dynamite would say, "Hell Yes!"
