A gorgeous day in CNY...

This morning I took my car into the dealership to get an oil change. Turned out that my car needed a new belt as well as a coolant flush. To the tune of $250! Oh well, gotta take care of the ride, otherwise I'd be seriously limited in what I could do during the week. The dealership took awhile so I called CM and told her that I'd not be able to ride today. I'm bummed because I feel like I am making progress in my riding, but timing wise, going so late would have set me back.

While I was waiting for my car, I talked to this salesguy at a satellite BMW Motorcycle / Vespa outlet and fell in love with an adorable scooter, then I walked to Burlington Coat Factory, and did not buy anything. Finally, I stumbled into "Make and Take Gourmet." It is a shop where you prepare entrees / snacks and desserts in their kitchen, using their recipes and ingredients and then take them home to cook later. Every month their 16 menu offerings change - and I thought it was kind of a cool idea. So I made Shrimp with a Garlic White Wine Sauce to be served over rice or pasta. It took about 3 minutes to make (throwing ingredients into a plastic bag full of shrimp). After creating this masterpiece, I walked back and picked up my car and went home. As I was extremely hungry, I stopped at Great American and picked up a box of rotelle. Then I went home and started preparing the meal. Not much to it. Boil the water for the pasta and throw the bag full of shrimp, oregano, butter, garlic, parsley and mushrooms into a saute pan. Twenty minutes later, DAS and I were munching on a delicious meal. However, at $20, it was a bit pricey. I filled two bowls with the leftovers for lunch tomorrow, but still - Bertolli frozen entrees are just as tasty, less work and much cheaper!

Lesson learned.

I took Xena for a walk to Xandria - it was a gorgeous fall day, and she's been a little bit neglected with regard to walking time. She had a blast. It is hard to tell an obstinate little dog that a.) she cannot fly in order to catch a seagull and b.) she cannot climb trees in order to catch a squirrel. She did her best to try, and she really tired herself out. When we arrived home, she snoozed out on the couch.
My new little camera takes some really nice photos - very clear and super fast shutter speed. I'm no expert but it is a pretty amazing gadget.
We're going to Kyoko for dinner tonight. Yay for Bento Boxes and fried bananas and ice cream!

Are you working? I didn't read that far yet...

Jamie Oliver cheers me up, and sister, I am not a cook. His new book is savage. He is simple Simon when it comes to cooking. Also if you get lonely, he's handy for all kinds of domestic fantasy.

Anyway, was thinking you could have made that dish at home. Cooking for yourself is nice.

Cheers lovey.
