Joyous Wednesday...

As I write this, my dog, who hates rain and cold weather, is sitting on the back steps crying piteously. I am just trying to catch a few minutes of quiet and sanity before my day erupts into Chaos.

DAS is getting ready for another three day business trip to Tarrytown and he is not in an unbelievable mood. (Well, now like a whirlwind, DAS has left with his pressed shirts and large suitcase and now I am feeling a little bit stressed out and I feel like crawling back under my covers and going to sleep for about three days.) But I am not going to do that. I have lots of things to accomplish - school all day today, come home to take care of X, then class (three hours of it) and then I have to meet with AP to finish our project. It is going to be a looooong day.
That's it for stress release now.

Oh. I received a speeding ticket (46 in a 20) in Fayetteville back in May. That was not one of my better days. It would have had a hefty fine of at least $235 and 4 points. I wrote a letter contesting the ticket and the DA came back with a lesser speeding charge with upwards of a $150 fine and 3 points. I still thought that was excessive, so I went to court last night to see what else could be done. After two hours, a chat with the judge and the DA, I now have a $75 parking on pavement ticket and no points. (And I made a friend out of the judge because I said he looked "fetching" in his robe after he complained that the DA should be staying late and wearing the robe (e.g. being a judge) if he wants to make monetary decisions for defendants (which he is not supposed to do)...

Yay for the justice system.

Buh-bye now.

More people should use the word "fetching." It really is a great word.
